Featured Arranging Work
INYAL
Most recent
String arrangements for the fantastic band INYAL — Patsy's most recent arranging project.
Ross & Ali — Symbiosis II
Arranging strings for Ross Ainslie and Ali Hutton's second album together. It was fun performing those parts with a string section at bigger gigs. Since then, Patsy has been on solo fiddle duties in the band, with a little help from a POG Octave pedal.
From the Ground
Another project with long-time collaborator and friend Ali Hutton, this time alongside mandolin player and singer Laura-Beth Salter. "I was given free reign to sculpt the strings around the nearly finished tracks, like a hug, and I love the way they turned out, cleverly mixed by Duncan Lyall."
Maeve Mackinnon — Don't Sing Love Songs
The classic early one
The folkie noughties classic where it all began — layering up some of the most memorable string lines with Duncan Lyall and Ali Hutton.
One of the first albums I played strings on was the folkie noughties classic, Don't Sing Love Songs by Maeve Mackinnon, where myself, Duncan Lyall and Ali Hutton had loads of fun layering up some of my most memorable string lines to date.
Since then, I've single-handedly played (as in violins, viola, and sometimes cello), written, and recorded strings for Tim Edey, Brian Finnegan, Ross Ainslie & Ali Hutton, Flook, Oka Vanga, Laura Donnelly, and most recently, From the Ground. I love providing what many call, 'the icing on the cake' and it's an amazingly rewarding process to collaborate with artists on their precious songs or tunes, in the closing stages of production.
